Hollywood, CA, United States (4E) - Black Panther, Hollywood's first superhero flick populated by African-Americans, earned a massive $201.8 million from Feb. 16 to 18 and will likely exceed $235 million from Feb. 16 to 20.

The Feb. 16 to 18 take is the biggest February opening weekend ever; the biggest solo superhero launch; the biggest holiday opening (larger than the $200 million Wed-Sun opening of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in 2009); the biggest Fri-Mon launch (bigger than the $153 million Fri-Mon opening of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End in 2007) and the biggest non-sequel launch of all time.

It's also the fifth-biggest Fri-Sun opening weekend of all time, behind only The Avengers ($207 million); Jurassic World ($208 million); The Last Jedi ($220 million) and The Force Awakens ($248 million).

On Friday, Black Panther earned $75.8 million (eighth-biggest single day and eighth-biggest Friday), including $25.2 million in Thursday previews. It then earned some $65.8 million on Saturday (fourth-biggest Saturday ever). The blockbuster should have around $60.096 million for Sunday (second-biggest Sunday) and then $33.2 million for Monday (the seventh-biggest Monday ever).

Starring Chadwick Boseman in the title role, Black Panther has blown away its original tracking in less than a month. On Sunday, Disney estimated that Black Panther would gross $218 million for Presidents Day weekend.

The movie finished Sunday with a $60.1 million -- the second best Sunday in industry history. The aount was a tad lower than 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" record of $60.6 million.

With 73% of schools closed, "Black Panther" business should decline 45% from Sunday for a $33 million Monday and $235 million four-day debut.

Black Panther also broke the record for the largest President's Day weekend, exceeding "Deadpool's" $152 million in 2016. Overall North American revenues for the four-day period should hit a $340 million.

Black Panther is also expected to dominate movie screens for several weeks.
