Port Richey, FL, United States (4E) - Shane Missler, a 20 year-old from Port Richey, Florida who loves positive thinking, has claimed the $451 million Mega Millions jackpot from the drawing held Jan. 5. He chose to receive his winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment in the amount of $281,874,999.

The Jan. 5 jackpot was the fourth largest prize in the game's 21-year history. Missler picked the lucky combination of 28, 30, 39, 59, and 70, along with the Mega Ball number, 10, to become the sole winner.

The jackpot-winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven, located at 7131 Ridge Road in Port Richey. The retailer will receive a $100,000 bonus commission for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.

"I'm only 20, but I hope to use it to pursue a variety of passions, help my family and do some good for humanity," said Missler.

"I intend to take care of my family, have some fun along the way, and cement a path for financial success so that I can leave a legacy far into the future.

"I have always been one to encourage the idea of chasing dreams and I believe life is about the pursuit of passion. I am 20 years old and my journey has only just begun."

A believer in "the power of the positive mindset,' Missler wasn't really surprised he'd won. He said he just had "a feeling" he might.

After realizing he'd won, the first call he made was to his brother. Then, he shared the news with his father over coffee the next morning.

Missler, who the Florida Lottery says is a deep believer in the "power of the positive mindset," wasn't very surprised that he won, telling the commission that he had a "feeling" he would take home the prize that night.

Missler has since taken a "crash course" in financial management, and hopes to leave a "legacy" with the help of his winnings.
