Washington, DC, United States (4E) - President Trump's golf habit has been both widely criticized and appreciated since his election, but no one can deny that the President truly loves the sport. Here are a couple of things to know about the President and his favorite pastime.

If you love something sponsor it. That's how the saying goes, right? The Trump organization operates many golf courses around the world. The president owns 17 golf courses everywhere from sunny South Florida to Aberdeen, Scottland.

Hurricane Relief Trophy

After Puerto Rico was struck by Hurricane Maria the mayor of Puerto Rico, Carla Yulin Cruz, started a war of the words with the President. Cruz alleged that Trump wasn't doing enough to speed along disaster relief to the Puerto Rican people. In response, President Trump dedicated the President's Cup, to the hurricane victims. The gesture was met with backlash from many who said that the Puerto Rico would be better helped through efforts to rebuild collapsed infrastructure, downed power lines, and water systems.

Legendary skills

It's no secret that the president loves to flaunt his golf skills. In an interview with, Senator Lindsey Graham said that Trump shot a 73 in wet and windy conditions. Some golf experts, however, say that's just plain unfeasible. Through the years, many celebrities have come forward and said that Trump has his own rules when playing golf.

Presidential Sacrifice

Throughout the campaign season, President Trump mentioned that when he became president he wouldn't have the time to play golf. However, after the election, the president still seemed to find some time to putter around the golf course. Many criticized the president for spending too much time on the green, but there are some that defend the president's golf habit, saying it allows him to blow off some steam from all the stress of the presidency.

However, a video circulated on Instagram of President riding on a golf cart with clubs and saying "hi" to people on the course.
