New York City, NY, United States (4E) - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson hosted "Saturday Night Live" for the fifth time and on the latest episode, he poked fun on the much-talked about 2020 presidential bid alongside Tom Hanks.
During the skit, Alec Baldwin, who has been playing President Donald Trump on the show, welcomed The Rock into the five-timers club. Johnson said when he reached the stage, "A lot of people have been telling me lately that I should run for President of the United States. And I gotta tell you, it's very flattering but tonight, I wanna put this for rest and just say once and for all—I'm in. Starting tonight, I am running for the President of the United States. Yeah."
He went on to say that he already chose his running mate who is also in the five-timers club, is very well-liked, is charming, and adored by every human alive. Baldwin then began saying that he would be honored to but he instead welcomed Hanks. Hanks said, "Dwayne, I could not possibly turn this down! I'll do it! I'm in! Let's go!"
Johnson went on to say that he would never consider running for president because he thought he was not qualified but now he worries that now he is too qualified. Hanks added that America needs them aside from pizza. Johnson also noted that they would get 100 percent of the vote.
He already talked about the possibility of running for president during his GQ magazine interview. He said that he is flattered with the result of the polls that they would vote for him over re-electing Trump. He also talked about it during his guesting last week on "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon." He told Fallon that people need more poise and less noise when it comes to politics and Americans deserve strong and capable leaders who care about its people.
