Pacific Palisades, CA, United States (4E Sports) - Dustin Johnson captured the No. 1 ranking after winning the Genesis Open by 5 shots Sunday at Riviera Country Club.
The 32-year-old Johnson fired an even-par 71 in the final round as he cruised to victory over Thomas Pieters and Scott Brown and replaced Jason Day in the No. 1 spot which he held for 47 weeks.
"It feels good to finally win because I've been so close quite a few times, and it's one of my favorite courses to play all year. So, yeah, it feels great to finally get a win," said Johnson, who earned $1,260,000 from his victory.
"So now, getting to No. 1, finally obviously, it's a great honor, and it's going to push me to continue to work harder," he added.
Justin Rose, Wesley Bryan, Kevin Na and Charley Hoffman finished in a tie for 4th , six strokes behind Johnson.
Ollie Schniederjans , Cameron Tringale and Martin Laird shared eighth place at 274.
