Sacramento, CA, United States (4E Sports) - The Sacramento Kings have traded three-time All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins to the New Orleans Pelicans, according to multiple media reports.

New Orleans will send guard Buddy Hield , guards Tyreke Evans and Langston Galloway and its 2017 first- and second-round picks, to the Kings for Cousins and forward Omri Casspi .

Cousins will team up with All-Star center Anthony Davis for the Pelicans, who are 2 1/2 games behind the Denver Nuggets for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

This season, Cousins is averaging career highs of 29.1 points per game and 11.2 rebounds. He is shooting 45.1 percent and making a career-high 35.4 percent from 3-point range.

The trade came days after Cousins declared that he wanted to stay in Sacramento.

Sources also said that the Kings engaged the Los Angeles Lakers in a trade involving Cousins but the talks did not push through after Sacramento asked 2016 No. 2 overall pick Brandon Ingram to be included in a package.
