Dubai, United Arab Emirates (4E Sports) - Sergio Garcia fired a bogey-free 3-under-par 69 to complete a wire-to-wire victory at the Dubai Desert Classic Sunday for his first European Tour crown in more than three years.
The 37-year-old Garcia finished with a four-round tally of 19-under-par, 3 strokes ahead of Open champion Henrik Stenson while Lasse Jensen and Tyrrell Hatton finished in a tie for third.
After starting the day in 3rd at 11-under, Ian Poulter hit six bogeys in his round for a four-over par 76.
"Hopefully it will be the beginning of a great year," said Garcia, who will move back into the top 10 following his first win since the 2014 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.
"I stayed aggressive and positive. To be back inside the world's top 10 is great," added Garcia, who bagged his 12th career European Tour title.
