Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) - Plus-size model Ashley Graham has slammed Amy Schumer for calling out Glamour magazine for putting her in a "plus-size" list in recent edition.
Graham is proud of her body and has been encouraging women to be proud of theirs, too. Graham found out that Schumer called out Glamour magazine for labeling her as plus size and now the model shared in her Cosmopolitan magazine interview that she is not supportive of the comedienne.
Graham graced the August issue of Cosmopolitan magazine and she shared, "I can see both sides, but Amy talks about being a big girl in the industry. You thrive on being a big girl, but when you're grouped in with us, you're not happy about it? That, to me, felt like a double standard."
During that time, the "Trainwreck" actress said on her Instagram account: "I think there's nothing wrong with being plus size. Beautiful healthy women. Plus size is considered size 16 in America. I go between a size 6 and an 8. @glamourmag put me in their plus size only issue without asking or letting me know and it doesn't feel right to me. Young girls seeing my body type thinking that is plus size? What are your thoughts? Mine are not cool glamour not glamourous." Aside from Graham, Melissa McCarthy and Adele were in the "chic at any size" issue.
Schumer responded to the statement of Graham via Twitter. She said that she understands Graham's feelings and that she does not group herself with her because she believes the model is "unbelievably beautiful." Schumer added that she has nothing but respect for Graham.
Graham also does not want to be labeled plus-size but she has consistently said that she represents it. She said in the interview that she is giving curvy women a seat at a table they have never bene invited to before. What she meant by this was the fashion industry that has never deemed plus-sized as beautiful.
