Message from the President

June 18, 2021

Dear Valued Customer,

You may have heard by now that People’s Bank and Trust Company of Pickett County and People’s Bank and Trust Company of Clinton County are merging.  The banks are owned by the same holding company, Upper Cumberland Bancshares, Inc., and this transaction was approved by the boards of both banks and has received regulatory approval.  The legal combination will be complete July 1, 2021, with the operational conversion scheduled for after close of business July 15, 2021.  We are writing to let you, our valued customer, know about the benefits this acquisition holds for you and to answer any questions that you may have.

As the President of both banks, I want to express my appreciation to you for being a loyal customer of our banks and ask that you continue to allow us to serve you in the future.  We think you will be pleased with the opportunities that the combination will bring, especially the convenience of doing your banking at either location.  There are no changes being made to products, services, or personnel.

We understand you may have some concerns during this transition, but we want to assure you that we are here to serve you and we will work hard to make this process as smooth as possible.  Enclosed you will find a list a questions and answers that we hope will be helpful to you.

We will inform you as soon as possible of any operational changes that will take place.  However, for now, it is business as usual.  We look forward to continuing our relationship with you.

Please feel free to contact me at 931-864-3168 or mofficer@pbtco.net with any questions or concerns you may have.

Sincerely,

Michael Officer

President/COO

Q: Will the name officially change from People’s Bank and Trust Company of Clinton County (Clinton) to People’s Bank and Trust Company of Pickett County (Pickett)?

A: Yes.  That will occur officially on July 1, 2021.  The signage, computer systems and operations will also change at that time.  Until then, it is business as usual.  (We will officially drop the ‘Pickett County’ verbiage from our name sometime after the merger is complete.)

Q: Will I be able to conduct business at either location?

A: Yes. We feel that your ability to conduct your banking business at either location is one of the primary benefits to our customers.

Q: Will my account numbers change?

A: Only a few accounts have been identified as needing a number change.  For those, we will simply be adding a leading ‘9’, and those customers will be notified by separate correspondence.  Aside from those accounts everyone will continue to use the same checks, but new ATM/debit cards will be issued to all Clinton customers.

Q: Will I need to order new checks and debit cards?

A: No.  Your checks will continue to work, and we will be reissuing Clinton debit cards prior to the combination.  Check reorders will automatically have correct information.

Q: Will my online banking and mobile banking logins remain the same?

A: Yes. However, a few user IDs may need to be changed, and that will be communicated by separate correspondence to anyone affected with plenty of lead time.  On July 19, Clinton users will need to reauthenticate using the online banking login feature on the website, peoplesbankbyrdstown.com.  Then for mobile banking, Clinton users will need to delete the Clinton app and install the Pickett app.

Q: Will the bank’s hours remain the same?

A: Yes, they will remain the same.  Going forward we will monitor each market and will adjust if needed to provide the level of service that our customers expect.

Q: My paycheck is direct deposited.  Do I need to notify my employer?

A: You will need to let anyone who electronically deposits funds to your account know that the routing number will change to 064103105.  This includes any government benefits that are made by direct deposit.  Electronic deposits using current information will work for a while after July 19, 2021, but we will eventually close the routing number for Clinton, so you will need to change the routing number on those to 064103105.

Q: If I have automatic withdrawals or payments with third parties coming out, will those continue to process?

A: They will work for a while after July 19, 2021, but we will eventually close the routing number for Clinton, so you will need to change the routing number on those to 064103105.

Q: Is my money safe?

A: Yes, your FDIC coverage at Pickett is the same that you had at Clinton. (If you have accounts at both banks in excess of a grand total of $250,000, you will need to contact us about processes we have to ensure all your deposits remain FDIC insured.)

Q: Will the terms of my loan(s) remain the same?

A: Yes, your interest rate, payment amount, due date and term will remain the same.  Please continue to make any loan payments as usual.

Q: Will the phone numbers for telephone banking change?

A: No.

Q: Who can I call if I have further questions?

A: Since it is business as usual, you can call your local office of People’s Bank during normal business hours at 606-387-5626 or 931-864-3168.
